Wat Pha Lat The Hidden Jungle Temple.
Continue with a 20-minute drive to Wat Pha Lat, a secluded forest monastery located quietly on the way up to Doi Suthep. Built around the same time as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, this temple is admired for its peaceful natural setting, ancient Burmese-style pagoda, meditation halls, and scenic viewpoints. Wat Pha Lat is a perfect spot for photography, relaxation, and appreciating Chiang Mai’s spiritual heritage.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep – The Iconic Landmark of Chiang Mai
The journey then continues uphill to the famous Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Test your fitness with a short climb up the iconic 306-step Naga staircase, leading to the 600-year-old golden temple perched atop the mountain.
